In June, Tara presented a paper (co-authored by student research assistants Daniela Caruso and Jason Yuan) at the 13th International Conference on Cochlear Implants and Other Implantable Auditory Technologies in Munich, Germany entitled “Auditory and gestural influences on the song learning of deaf children with cochlear implants”.

Honours student and psychology graduate Jennifer Skolney is now studying for a Master’s in Counselling Psychology at the University of North Texas. She has completed a project looking at how cultural experience affects children’s perception of time in Western and South Asian classical music.

Lab alumni: Former research assistant Melanie Monaghan is now studying for a M.Sc. degree in Audiology at the University of British Columbia. She co-authored a paper with Tara entitled “Cross-modal perception of rhythm in music and dance by cochlear implant users”.
